Mötley Crüe Bringing Carnival of Sins Tour to Kansas City
Mötley Crüe’s Return of the Carnival of Sins rolls into the Kansas City area September 8, celebrating 45 years of the band with fellow rock veterans Tesla and Extreme.
Kansas City-area rock fans have a major date approaching. Mötley Crüe will bring its Return of the Carnival of Sins tour to Morton Amphitheater in Riverside, Missouri, on Tuesday, September 8, with a scheduled 6:30 p.m. start. The concert is part of the band’s 2026 North American tour celebrating both Mötley Crüe’s 45th anniversary and 20 years since its original Carnival of Sins era.
The Kansas City stop comes at a particularly interesting point in the tour. After playing Noblesville, Indiana, on August 28, Mötley Crüe has a short break before arriving in Riverside. From there, the tour heads south for performances in Dallas and Houston before continuing through the Southwest and West Coast.
For fans who remember the band’s spectacular arena shows of the 1980s, the concept should sound familiar. Mötley Crüe describes the 2026 production as a reimagined version of Carnival of Sins with an updated set list, designed both for longtime Crüeheads and fans who never experienced the original production.
And Mötley Crüe isn’t coming alone.
The tour features Tesla and Extreme as special guests, creating a bill that reaches directly into the late-’80s and early-’90s hard-rock era. Live Nation’s original tour announcement confirms both bands as featured performers on the North American run.
A Celebration of Mötley Crüe’s Classic ’80s Run
Few bands are more closely associated with the look, sound and attitude of 1980s hard rock.
Mötley Crüe released Too Fast for Love in 1981 and followed it with Shout at the Devil in 1983, Theatre of Pain in 1985, Girls, Girls, Girls in 1987 and Dr. Feelgood in 1989.
That five-album run produced staples including “Live Wire,” “Looks That Kill,” “Home Sweet Home,” “Wild Side,” “Girls, Girls, Girls,” “Kickstart My Heart” and “Dr. Feelgood.”
The band is putting an additional spotlight on that period in 2026 with its Crücial Crüe 1981–1989 collection. Mötley Crüe’s official site says the set includes all five of those studio albums and was released in July in multiple formats, including vinyl and CD editions.
The anniversary tour also has a charitable component. Through the Mötley Crüe Giveback Initiative, $1 from every ticket sold is being donated to ASAP! (After School Arts Program) to support hands-on music and arts opportunities for young people.

Why ’80s Fans Should Care
For an ’80s rock fan, this isn’t simply another legacy-band concert. Mötley Crüe’s five-album run from 1981 through 1989 traces the rise of Los Angeles hard rock from underground clubs to MTV and sold-out arenas.
Putting Mötley Crüe, Tesla and Extreme together also turns the Kansas City date into something resembling a miniature hard-rock festival.
For 80s Music Radio listeners, September 8 offers the opportunity to hear a sizable piece of the decade’s hard-rock soundtrack live — with the oversized production Mötley Crüe has always considered part of the show.
The carnival is coming back to Kansas City.
